Position Overview:
The Director of Systems, Technology & Operational Efficiency (DSTOE) will play a pivotal role in supporting Liberty Hill Foundation’s mission by overseeing operational functions and initiatives while coordinating the implementation of the IT Strategic Plan. You will work closely with external consultants and various stakeholders to ensure that technology systems, processes, and infrastructure meet the evolving needs of the organization. The (DSTOE), will also serve as the primary liaison between the Operations team and external partners, ensuring efficient, secure, and compliant operations.
What You Will Do:
IT Strategic Plan Implementation:
- Oversee the execution of the IT Strategic Plan, ensuring that initiatives align with Liberty Hill’s goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with the COO to prepare reports and plans for the executive team, facilitating informed decision-making.
- Ensure the continuous alignment of IT strategies with the organizational mission, focusing on security, compliance, and efficiency.
Vendor Management and Liaison Duties:
- Serve as the main point of contact for consultants, managing the relationship and ensuring that IT support needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
- Coordinate with external vendors and consultants to develop long-term IT security and equipment maintenance plans, ensuring that technology investments are future-proof and scalable.
Project Management:
- Own the framework for large-scale implementation projects, including grantmaking administration systems, HRIS, and expense management platforms.
- Oversee the integration and implementation of new systems and applications, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring transparent communication with all stakeholders.
Operational Efficiency and Process Improvement:
- Leverage technology and automation to improve operational workflows, reduce manual processes, and increase efficiency across departments. Collaborate with stakeholders to assess current systems, identify gaps, and lead implementation efforts for new solutions.
- Lead the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies in collaboration with the IT and Operations teams.
- Ensure systems and processes adhere to internal and external compliance standards, with a particular focus on data privacy and security.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand and meet needs then implement technological solutions.
- Design training and support initiatives to ensure successful adoption of new systems and technologies.
Risk Management, Reporting, and Compliance:
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies for IT security, compliance, and operational vulnerabilities, ensuring best practices are in place to protect data and organizational assets.
- Prepare regular status reports and updates for the COO and executive team, highlighting progress, risks, and areas for improvement.
- Maintain detailed documentation of all operational processes, system configurations, and project outcomes to support ongoing operations and future audits.
Requirements
What You Will Have:
- Master’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field preferred or an equivalent combination of education and lived experience.
- 6 years of experience in IT operations, systems implementation, technology project management, or business process optimization. Experience in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization is strongly preferred.
- 6 years proven experience managing large-scale technology implementations, with a strong understanding of IT infrastructure, security, and compliance.
- Proficiency in enterprise systems and technology platforms, including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Blackbaud (Raiser’s Edge, Granted Edge, Financial Edge), and project management tools (Asana, Slack, etc.).
- Strong familiarity with IT security best practices, data governance, and business process automation is a plus.
- Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and external partners.
- Familiarity with non-profit operations and mission-driven organizations is a plus.

Work Environment:
This position is based in Los Angeles, with a hybrid model of in-person and remote work. This role may require occasional travel to partner sites or for professional development opportunities.

Salary : $120,000 - $160,000
