Principle Function:
This position is tasked with planning and coordinating the worship service with particular emphasis on liturgy and music.
General Qualifications:
1) Must be a born again Christian and senses a calling to serve in this kind of ministry role.
2) Must be willing to represent the social principles of the Global Methodist Church.
3) Experience in leading worship, vocalists, and musicians.
4) Has experience with the use of technology in worship such as lighting, worship software, and sound systems.
5) Team player with good relational skills and a positive attitude.
Essential Duties:
- Develop a weekly order of service in coordination with the pastor.
· Lead the congregation in worship and direct the flow and elements of the service.
· Build the worship presentation on ProPresenter for each week’s service. This includes such things as announcement graphics and song slides.
· Blend contemporary and traditional styles of worship music to accommodate a wide range of worship styles.
· Coordinate when appropriate, special musical guests.
· Obtain a substitute in the event of absence.
· Work in collaboration with the adult choir director for worship services and lead the adult choir as needed.
· Help plan special services and events including but not limited to Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Good Friday/Easter and encourage children/youth participation.
· Serve on the worship committee.
· Develop and submit appropriate requests for worship funding to include submitting a proposed annual budget to the Finance Committee.
· Be financially responsible and a good steward purchasing music and supplies for worship.
Evaluation:
The person in this position is responsible to the Pastor and the Staff Pastor Parish Committee. A work performance evaluation will be completed by the Pastor and the Staff Pastor Parish Committee annually. Recommendations regarding salary adjustments for the coming year will be determined at that time.
This position is classified as part time support staff and does not include vacation, sick leave, or other benefits afforded to full time personnel.
