Liberty Hill Youth Soccer Association is looking to hire experienced and motivated youth soccer coaches for our competitive division, Liberty United - Specifically our Jr. Academy (U7/8) & Academy programs (U9/10). This is a part time, 1099-contract position beginning in August'25 through May'26.
Pay range is dependent upon the candidate’s current licensing and number of teams offered to the candidate.
The ideal candidate will have a strong soccer background, 1-2 years coaching experience, and the ability to foster player development in a structured and engaging environment. This role requires a basic understanding of player development, technical and tactical coaching, and the ability to create a competitive yet fun atmosphere. Depending on candidate availability and experience, 1-3 teams may be offered if hired.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Coach for Liberty United, you will be responsible for leading twice weekly training sessions (1.25 hours each) per team. During Fall/Spring season play, you will be responsible for coaching home and away games. Travel is required within Liberty Hill and the Greater Metropolitan area of Austin. You will be required to lead individual player evaluations and assist with club wide tryouts and evaluations for all programs. Our Technical Director will be assisting you throughout this contract.
- Develop and implement structured training sessions aligned with USSF coaching methodologies.
- Teach fundamental soccer skills, game strategies, and team play.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment while challenging players to reach their potential.
- Assess and track player progress, providing feedback for development.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about player growth, expectations, and program details.
- Set up and maintain equipment for practices and matches.
- Encourage discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship, along with the Club’s designated values.
- Identify and nurture talent for further soccer advancement.
- Stay updated on modern coaching techniques and industry best practices.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- USSF Grassroots 4v4 and 7v7 (or higher) required.
- Fundamental knowledge of soccer tactics, techniques, and player development principles.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate young players in a structured environment.
- Must pass a background check.
- Availability for evening or weekend training sessions and games.
- Driver’s license and motor vehicle required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience playing competitive club or collegiate soccer.
- Additional coaching certifications (e.g., USSF D or C-License, United Soccer Coaches Diplomas).
- Degree or coursework in sports science, education, or a related field.
- Experience working in an academy or club environment.
