What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diabetes Education Coordinator position at Liberty Hospital?
Summary :
Perform professional nursing, consultation and education services for persons with diabetes and provides community health education. Develop curriculum on health including research and production and act as a health care consultant by providing information on the management of diabetes for persons of all ages.
Required Qualifications :
Education / Training : Graduate of a nursing program. BSN
Experience : Minimum of two years’ experience in healthcare setting with recent experience teaching persons with diabetes.
Licensure / Certification / Registration : Current Registered Nurse license with eligibility to work in the state of MO; Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) or Board Certified in Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM) within 6 months of hire; BLS within first 90 days.
Preferred Qualifications :
Education / Training : MSN; graduate from an accredited nursing program
Experience : Diabetes prevention or health education program.
