What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lactation Consultant position at Liberty Hospital?
SUMMARY: Responsible for the delivery of professional nursing services, which will address the physical, psycho-social, spiritual, cultural, developmental, and age-appropriate needs of each individual patient/family. Accountable for development and implementation of Lactation Program and teaching breastfeeding basics to staff on the OB unit. Accountable for the coordination of breast pump rental program.
Required Experience: Recent clinical experience in maternal childcare
Required Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current Registered Nurse license with eligibility to work in the state of Missouri; BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross); IBCLC or CLC required within 90 days of hire or internal transfer effective 4/13/2023
Preferred Education/Training: BSN
Preferred Experience: Minimum three (3) years clinical experience in maternal/child care setting; minimum 2 years experience as IBCLC; Minimum two (2) years teaching experience in maternal/child care setting; experience with outpatient follow-up
Preferred Licensure/Certification/Registration: Maternal/Newborn nursing (RNC-MNN); Inpatient obstetrics (RNC-OB); Low-risk neonatal (RNC-LRN); Nursing Continuing Education/Staff Development (RN,C), NRP
