What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pre-Surgical Testing Nurse position at Liberty Hospital?
SUMMARY: Initiates nursing process to include utilization management. Plans, schedules, and coordinates pre-admission testing for surgical patients. Obtains and initiates admitting orders. Screens admission orders for appropriateness to diagnosis. Initiates discharge planning by assessing patient/family needs, and making appropriate referrals.
Required Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current Registered Nurse license with eligibility to work in the state of Missouri or Current LPN license with eligibility to work in the state of Missouri with 1 years' experience; BLS
Preferred Education/Training: Graduate from an accredited nursing program
Preferred Experience: Pre-admission testing experience and/or experience in managed care/insurance position
Preferred Licensure/Certification/Registration: Medical/surgical (RN, C); Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse (CAPA); Medical Surgical (CMSRN)
