Students in our Patient Care Tech program will learn the skills and knowledge necessary to provide compassionate direct patient care and become an essential member of the healthcare team. Seats are limited!
Those selected for the program will receive this training at no cost through the Stocksdale Education Assistance Program to the learner and will earn an hourly wage while attending the program.
SUMMARY: The Student Patient Care Tech position will provide individuals with classroom instruction in basic nursing skills, patient rights and safety training, and methods of handling and caring for patients in the acute care environment. It will also provide supervised clinical training where you will practice the skills learned during class and on the floor within the acute care environment. Upon successful completion of the program, individuals will obtain a certificate of completion as well as American Heart Association BLS, allowing them to become eligible to test for the Missouri Certified Nursing Assistant certification. Furthermore, upon completion of the program individuals will be eligible to transition from Student Patient Care Tech to Patient Care Tech.
Required Education/Training: Actively enrolled in Liberty Hospital's patient care tech training program
Required Licensure/Certification/Registration: BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) received upon program completion
Preferred Education/Training: High school diploma or equivalent
