Frame selection services are based on the personal shopper model, where we lead the patient to efficient, stylish success. Patients are thrilled with this personized service. Optician duties and responsibilities:
- Directly team with doctors for very specific eyeglass lens solutions, which minimizes "selling" techniques and emphasizes understanding and meeting all their needs.
- Guide patients through an efficient personal shopper style frame selection experience.
- Perform precise optical measurements and adjustments to ensure a perfect fit.
- Accurately neutralize spectacle prescriptions, including those with prism, and verify incoming jobs from the lab.
- Repair and otherwise service frames and eyewear to re-create the perfect fit and function for clients.
- Happily and expertly troubleshoot and solve optical needs.
- Enter frame and lens orders into computer systems.
- Track client orders, and communicate effectively with them to meet and exceed their service expectations.
- Maintain an attractive dispensary, including decluttering and organizing attractive frame displays.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with patients through excellent service and communication.
Optician Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Familiarity with medical and optical terminology
- Prefer Washington License or ABO Certification
- Prior experience in an optical environment where customer service, fashion and technical optician skills were utilized
- Excellent "high-touch" client care, communication, people skills, and multitasking skills are a must
- Enjoys helping people, solving problems and smoothing out concerns
- Excellent computer skills to record and order complex lenses, charges, notes and maintain frame inventory
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $28.00 per hour
