Position Objective-General Manager: The primary role of the General Manager is to execute on jobs, drive process compliance, be in control of the daily business operations and to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction that leads to future projects.

It is expected that the General Manager:

  • Will create processes and systems that maximize efficiency, reduce overtime and redundancies, and maximize profitability.
  • Will shape the work environment by setting performance standards and defining the pace and direction of the team to maximize employee engagement and success.
  • Will be responsible for managing large and complex projects, including preparation, planning, initial installation, inspections, maintenance and any other requirements per the contract.
  • Will communicate effectively to leadership teammates regarding project status, issues that arise, successes and failures, project timelines.
  • Will be responsible for placing equipment and supply orders and ensuring their accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Assist and oversee that the commercial site and office maintenance responsibilities are completed daily. This includes, but is not limited to, site cleaning, rest room cleaning, and trash disposal. Maintain a list of needed supplies and/or inventory with sufficient notice to management in order to avoid interruption of responsibilities and services.
  • Daily and weekly responsibilities that will assist you with consistent positive workflow will include:
  • Morning and Afternoon “walks” to review the condition of the yard, Inventory shortages, and marketing design. The afternoon walk should make sure all plants material this is tagged – is pulled from the yard to be held in the holding area.
  • Supervising the delivery board daily and also reviewing “future” board assignments.
  • Supervision of all cash drawers.
  • Reviewing daily delivery tickets for the next day.
  • Review all incoming orders for the next day.
  • Review employee schedules daily to make sure you are adequately staffed for the next day. (covering deliveries and installations)
  • Inspect the trucks when they come in at the end of the day, this review is not only for cleanliness but to make sure proper inventory is on the trucks and also to review the overall condition of the truck.
  • Review the weekly maintenance books for the trucks and tractors.
  • Work on any daily or weekly “Special Project” that may come up.
  • Adheres to strict confidentiality of company production procedures and financial figures, including our cost, profit margins and gross sales. Violation of this policy is subject to immediate termination.
  • Will contribute industry knowledge and expertise to expand current business operations to achieve growth and meet sales goals. This includes, but is not limited to, prior experience in other industries.
  • Solves problems to the best of your ability as they arise. There are not many emergencies in this business so many situations need to be dealt with reasonably until they can be discussed with management and a permanent solution can established. Most important, if you’re not sure, ask and never be afraid to tell the customer you don’t know but will find the answer for them.
  • Will be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Drive company vehicles.
  • This is primarily a Monday-Friday position with an expectation of 50-55 hours per week. There are some exceptions for some weekend work.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Compensation Structure:

1. Three weeks paid vacation.

2. Company paid holidays (up to 5 each year depending on the calendar).

3. Access to Group Health Program, which includes, health, dental, vision, supplement insurance products and company matching 401(k); eligibility begins the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment.

4. Employee discount on MOST items of 40%. Details are located in the employee handbook.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
