Position Summary: The Elementary Director is responsible for developing, promoting, and implementing a comprehensive Parent and Kids Ministry of reaching, teaching, and ministering to children, Kindergarten– 5th grade.
Ministry Department: Groups
Position Reports To: Campus Pastor with Ministry Direction Supervision from Next-Gen Pastor
Hours: This is a 32-hour part-time position. Attendance at all Sunday and mid-week services and special events are required.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Innovate, plan, and carry out events and programs with the intent of leading children and families towards understanding and taking their next steps with Life Track.
- Provide a discipling process for children who have made or desire to make a profession of faith.
- Create a means to assimilate children into Groups and equip Kids leaders in evangelism.
- Schedule and deliver team orientation and ongoing training for volunteers involved in the Kids Ministry on a regular basis.
- Organize and lead the Elementary Ministry by maintaining and expanding the Kids Group Ministry and Kids Ministry in general.
- Develop and lead a team to implement and carry the Kids Group ministry on Sunday Mornings which includes a Large Group Teaching and Worship Time as well as Small Group Time.
- Continually evaluate the Kids Ministry at Liberty to judge and improve effectiveness in reaching, teaching, and ministering to children and their families.
- Expose and educate children about local, national and world missions.
- Assist in developing and maintaining a budget for the Elementary portion of the Kids Ministry.
- Refine and implement check-in procedures for children for services and special events to maintain a safe and secure environment for children and their families.
- Maintain and improve volunteer screening processes to ensure the safety of children.
- In the case of a portable campus, responsible for recruiting, training, and scheduling volunteer teams for help in set-up and take-down of equipment.

- Work in coordination with the overall mission, goals and objectives of the church which are summarized by the mission statement “Changing Lives, Communities and the World for Jesus Christ.”
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to relate to children and parents personally.
- Ability to recruit and train adult volunteers to be part of a ministry team.
- Ability to be a part of a ministry team.
- Ability to learn and abide by Church policies and procedures.
- Ability to communicate in a concise and effective manner and use tact and discretion.
- Ability to be a self-starter with drive, passion, and initiative.
- Ability to recruit volunteers and manage a volunteer schedule.
- Experience in Kids Ministry.
Conditions and Physical Requirements:
The job will primarily be carried out in an office setting and require sitting, standing, as well as bending, and carrying some moderately heavy items.
