Position Summary: Perform a variety of duties in the Liberty kitchen to ensure an excellent customer experience. A kitchen helper cleans and sanitizes kitchen equipment, assists in basic food preparation, and receives and stocking products. Participates in routine and non-routine aspects of the Food Service Ministry. Be proactive and engaged in all activities. Must follow all health compliance regulations.

Position Reports To: Kitchen Manager
Hours: This is a casual part-time position (16-hours/week) with a basic work schedule which consists of working Monday through Thursday, some Sundays, and other special events as required.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Report to work when scheduled and in a proper uniform that meets Liberty’s dress code and food service safety and Liberty’s standards.
- Greet guests with a smile and a positive attitude. Be willing to help those in need.
- Have a positive attitude regarding the job and communication with management and fellow team members.
- Prepare daily food items as requested.
- Participate in the proper storage and rotation of food.
- Help in maintaining a clean area, equipment, as well as all food service-related areas.
- Wash dishes, glassware, and other items when needed.
- Observe all rules of food safety and sanitation laws.
General Responsibilities:

- Faithfully maintain discretion and effectively deal with sensitive and/or confidential information of a written and spoken nature.
- Use independent judgment to determine work priorities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Administrator.
- Be a loyal staff member by cooperating and following the leadership of the church.
- Follow Liberty’s policies and procedures.
- Work in coordination with the overall mission, goals, and objectives of the church which are summarized by the mission statement “Changing Lives, Communities and the World.”
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- 3-5 years of food service experience is desired.
- ServSafe certification is helpful, but not required.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to read, write, and interpret instructions.
Conditions and Physical Requirements:
This position will be primarily in the kitchen, dining hall, and café. There will be times of extensive standing, bending, and lifting of moderately heavy items.
