Overview
Responsibilities will include processing of commercial loans and non-real estate consumer loans. The process will include, but are not limited to: processing, document drawing, and some loan servicing functions. This position is also responsible for adhering to guidelines, SBA SOP, State Guaranty Loan, and bank policy and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Provides loan processing services for loan officers throughout the company and administrative support for officers within the unit. Ensures all required documentation is in the file. Generates and maintains required loans documentation to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and bank requirements. Coordinates with lending personnel to deliver documents remotely.
- Reviews approved credit memos for proper authority level and to understand the type and structure of the loan in order to correctly identify the necessary loan documents and fund the loan accurately and in a timely manner.
- Complete regulatory due diligence to validate information required for documentation; obtain and/or conduct a thorough review of corporate and collateral documentation, i.e., certificates of existence, flood determinations, appraisals, lien searches, title searches/commitment to check for accuracy, completeness and compliance with loan approval guidelines and internal policies. Identify outstanding tickler items to ensure follow-up items are being reported, tracked and resolved properly. Provides checklists of needed documents to the assigned Relationship Manager. Keeps lender aware of documentation exceptions.
- Enter and verify loan application information into the company’s system as needed accurately and efficiently, ensuring attention to detail. Must be able to work independently while adhering to strict deadlines, and work at a fast pace for a long period of time while maintaining accuracy.
- Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
- Two or more years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.
- A high school degree or equivalent is required.

- A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required. In depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with the assigned Relationship Manager, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors are of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature is a normal part of the day-to-day experience. Communications can involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.
- Ability to perform collateral perfection, including real property and UCC. Must be PC literate; experience with ComplianceOne, LaserPro, or other banking software a strong plus.
ADA Requirements
- Physical Requirements: Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 15 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
- Working Conditions: Must be able to routinely perform work both indoors in climate-controlled environment and outside in sometimes inclement weather.
- Mental and/or Emotional Requirements: Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations with extreme accuracy. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
