Environmental Scientist/Engineer
The ideal candidate will bring over five years of experience in natural resources, environmental permitting, and ecological restoration, with a drive to advance into leadership roles.
Key Responsibilities:
Conducting wetland delineations and preparing detailed reports.
Handling Section 404/401 permitting processes.
Designing and implementing wetland and stream restoration projects.
Coordinating with regulatory agencies and stakeholders.
Performing geomorphic and functional assessments of natural systems.
Developing solutions for shoreline protection, including living shorelines.
Monitoring streams, wetlands, and stormwater systems.
Preparing construction documents, including plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, ecology, civil engineering, agricultural/biological engineering, water resources engineering, or a related discipline. A master’s degree is a plus.
Proficiency in MS Office is essential; experience with GIS and CAD software is preferred.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are required.
Familiarity with ecological and environmental practices in the Mid-Atlantic region, including Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, and Pennsylvania, is preferred.
Role Details:
This position primarily involves office-based responsibilities but includes some fieldwork as well. It offers a strong growth trajectory toward leadership opportunities within the organization.
