Tasks
- Engage with residents in a friendly and professional manner, responding to their dietary concerns and preferences with empathy and respect.
- Ensure that all meals are prepared in a timely manner and served at the appropriate temperature
- Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
- Collaborate with the administrator to plan menus that meet the nutritional needs of our residents
- Assist with inventory management, including ordering and stocking food supplies
- Monitor portion control to minimize waste and ensure cost efficiency
- Maintain accurate records of food production, including meal counts and special diet requests
- Adhere to all safety and health regulations in the kitchen
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a cook in a kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, including knife skills and cooking methods
- Familiarity with menu planning and recipe development
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
