Qualifications and Education Requirements
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Summary of the Position
Performs typical housekeeping and custodial work to support the entire facility. Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
Essential Responsibilities
- Sweeps, vacuums, mops, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines.
- Operates powered vehicles, lifts, and hand pallet jacks necessary, in a safe manner.
- Dusts and washes wall, cleans ceilings, dusts, and polishes light fixtures.
- Move cabinets, boxes furniture, and other equipment to clean areas. May remove stains from surfaces such as rugs, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
- Performs typical maintenance tasks to support the assembly floor and the entire facility.
- Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on the buildings and grounds as required.
- Maintains cleaning supply inventory, and orders as required.
- Collects all garbage and recyclables and disposes of it, as necessary.
- Operates according to ISO 9001 requirements.
- Responsible and accountable to follow safety guidelines, maintain a clean and organized work area and use good judgement. Expected to report all unsafe activities and conditions to Supervisor and/or Safety & Occupational Health Specialist.

Experience/Skills/Abilities
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one-or-two step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables. Basic personal computer skills. This position also requires you to be able to prioritize tasks.
Physical Requirements
Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily production/technical nature. Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers, and perceives attributes of objects and materials. Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less). Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors).
Working Conditions
Well-lighted, heated, and/or air-conditioned indoor office/production setting with adequate ventilation. Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic).
