JOB SUMMARY:
The Business Analyst will play a critical role in driving business performance by developing and maintaining a single source of truth for key sales, product, and performance insights. This role will analyze sales trends, product performance, and demand forecasts to support data-driven decision-making. Additionally, the analyst will assist in demand planning as part of the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process to optimize inventory and sales forecasts.
The primary focus of this role is to support the Commercial team (Sales and Marketing) and Senior Leadership by providing key insights that drive strategic initiatives, revenue growth, and market positioning. The analyst will also work cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, and New Product Development (NPD) teams to ensure accurate planning, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting.
The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, a passion for data storytelling, and experience working with sales, product, and operational teams to uncover key business insights.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales & Business Performance Analysis:
- Develop and maintain sales performance dashboards to track sales vs. plan by region, dealer, and retail partner for the Commercial team and senior leadership.
- Analyze historical sales data and trends to provide insights on performance, risks, and opportunities for the Sales and Marketing teams.
- Work closely with Sales leadership to refine reporting processes and optimize strategies for different channels and accounts.
- Partner with Finance to ensure sales projections align with financial targets and company-wide goals.
Product Line & Market Analysis:
- Track product line performance against forecasts and historical trends, identifying best-selling models and emerging product trends.
- Provide analysis on product lifecycle trends, pricing impact, and consumer purchasing behavior to inform Sales and Marketing strategies.
- Work closely with NPD and Operations teams to assess the impact of new product introductions and modifications on demand and sales.
- Support go-to-market planning with data-driven insights on sales expectations and category performance.
Demand Planning & Forecasting:
- Assist in sales forecasting and demand planning as part of the SIOP process, ensuring alignment with production capabilities and financial goals.
- Identify demand fluctuations and work with Operations and Finance to optimize inventory levels and production planning.
- Improve forecasting accuracy by integrating external factors such as seasonality, economic trends, and competitive movements.
Data & Reporting Infrastructure:
- Develop and maintain a centralized data hub for sales, product, and customer performance reporting.
- Create automated dashboards and reporting tools in Power BI or similar platforms to support real-time decision-making for Sales, Marketing, and Senior Leadership.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across systems and reports.
- Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and NPD teams to align reporting methodologies and key performance indicators across departments.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Technical Skills:
- Advanced Excel skills, including data modeling and visualization.
- Power BI (or similar BI tool) expertise for reporting and dashboard development.
- Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics AX preferred) for sales and inventory reporting.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:
- Strong ability to interpret data and transform it into actionable business insights for the commercial team and leadership.
- Experience with sales forecasting and demand planning methodologies.
- Ability to analyze product performance trends at the category, model, and regional levels.
Communication & Collaboration:
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and NPD teams to align data insights with business strategy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to present insights to leadership and commercial teams.
- High attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
