Full-Time SciTech Scity Healthcare Program Manager

The Role   
The SciTech Scity Healthcare Program Manager will be responsible for managing all components of the Healthcare Innovation Engine, including roundtables and pilots. The role will be responsible for managing the sourcing of startups, serving as the project manager for all pilot projects with health systems and community partners, and supporting the international landing pad program. The role demands exceptional communication, organization, and an ability to juggle multiple priorities.

The Healthcare Program Manager will report directly to the Executive Director of the SciTech Innovation Hub and collaborate closely with the Senior Innovation Program Manager and the rest of the SciTech Scity team.

About SciTech Scity   
Liberty Science Center is developing a “Science City of Tomorrow” in Jersey City—a 30-acre innovation campus called SciTech Scity devoted to using science and technology to address humanity’s greatest challenges, from inadequate healthcare to climate change, and create a better future for all of us.  The new campus, including the existing Liberty Science Center, home of the largest planetarium in the Western Hemisphere, will be officially named the Frank J. Guarini Innovation Campus and is scheduled to open in 2026.

What You’ll Do
The Healthcare Program Manager’s responsibilities will vary depending on the needs of the business but will focus on some combination of the following essential functions.

Healthcare Pilot Initiatives (40%)

1. Manage all pilot initiatives with multiple startup companies from start to finish, including supporting their completion of all relevant legal, contractual, regulatory, financial, and IT processes with pilot sites
2. Source startups as necessary to solve stakeholder concerns, work with consultants to conduct market scans and speak to potential startup participants
3. Provide periodic updates on pilot initiatives to stakeholders, identify areas for additional partner engagement on pilots
4. Maintain database of healthcare startups and develop pipeline for future pilots

Healthcare Innovation Engine Roundtable (30%)

1. Schedule and organize the Healthcare Innovation Engine’s quarterly roundtable, working closely with Liberty Science Center’s Marketing and Events Teams
2. Serve as the point of contact for all Roundtable Lead Partners leading up to quarterly roundtables
3. Plan and facilitate follow-up activities, such as one-off events and ongoing meetings to sustain meaningful connections

Other Healthcare Programs (20%)

1. Provide input, research, and planning support to design programs for healthcare startups (incl. Give & take for startups, corporate partners, academics, and others)
2. Identify opportunities for corporate partner involvement and coordinate their roles and contributions
3. As required by additional programs, source startups annually, in collaboration with partners, and manage the application and selection process developing a pipeline of potential tenants for the business incubator
4. Support branding and marketing for the program, including social media marketing in collaboration with the marketing team

Other responsibilities (10%)

1. Support the coordination of other events related to the SciTech Scity Healthcare programming goals
2. Contribute to grant writing and funding opportunities as needed 

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Understanding of the U.S. healthcare landscape including current trends, policies, and payment structures
2. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
3. Ability to work collaboratively with a team and manage multiple priorities at once
4. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

1. Bachelor’s Degree and 4 years of experience
2. Experience in Healthcare (payer, provider, policy, research, or startup)

Classification and Schedule
The SciTech Scity Healthcare Program Manager is a full-time position that is exempt according to FLSA overtime provisions. This role is a hybrid schedule with a minimum of 2 days/week on-site with additional days on-site on an as-needed basis subject to business needs. Occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends may be required.

Compensation & Benefits
The base compensation for this role is estimated to be in the range of $70,000-$80,000. The final salary offer will be commensurate with abilities, education, certifications, and experience. 1. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of the work day while working at a desk and on a laptop
2. Must be comfortable working in an open office environment in close proximity to others and that has a moderate noise level
