We are looking for a full-time Shed Roofer to join our production line. This role is responsible for installing both metal and shingle roofing on our shed products, following detailed work orders, and ensuring all roofs meet quality and safety standards. The position requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and teamwork.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Roof Installation: Install metal and shingle roofing systems on our line of shed products following company standards, work orders, and floor plans.
Work Order Understanding: Read, interpret, and follow work orders and floor plans to accurately complete roofing installation.
Work Station Organization: Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure efficiency, safety, and compliance with company standards.
Inspection Support: Assist with conducting inspections and completing checklists for both pre-installation and post-installation stages.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Tool Operation and Maintenance: Safely operate and maintain power and pneumatic tools used for roofing installation.
Training and Meetings: Attend all required training sessions and team meetings to stay updated on best practices, safety procedures, and company policies.
Basic Math Skills: Perform basic mathematical computations (e.g. measurements, calculations) required for roof installations and adjustment.
Final Inspections and Checklists: Conduct final inspections and ensure that roofing installations meet quality and safety standards before completion.
Team Backup: Provide backup support for assigned team members as needed to maintain workflow and meet production goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous roofing or construction experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret floor plans and work orders.
- Proficient in basic math and measurements.
- Experience with power and pneumatic tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Physical ability to work in varying weather conditions and on roofs.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and company procedures. Strong problem solving and time management skills.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to life heavy materials and tools (up to 50 lbs.) unassisted.
- Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions. Physical stamina to work long hours, if necessary.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment in our manufacturing facility is fast-paced and hands-on, with a high level of activity. Please be aware that our facility is not climate-controlled, and employees may occasionally be required to work outside in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, or rain. The workspace is noisy due to machinery and equipment. Additionally, employees should be prepared to tolerate exposure to paint and stain fumes, as well as sawdust in the air. The position involves long periods of standing, and employees may also be required to perform tasks on ladders and scaffolding, including working at heights of 6 feet or more. Safety protocols are in place to ensure a secure and efficient work environment.
WORK SCHEDULE
The typical work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Please note that schedules may vary depending on production demands, and occasional overtime may be required to meet deadlines or handle peak workloads. Flexibility in work hours is appreciated to ensure we continue to meet our production goals and maintain high standards of quality.
