Liberty Software is a healthcare technology company that develops software for retail pharmacies across the country. Our pharmacy management platform helps pharmacies increase profit, improve patient care, and enhance patient safety. We are currently seeking a Business Development Manager (BDM) to join our team in our Northeast region.
Under general direction of the Director of Business Development, the BDM – Northeast Region will increase market share of the Liberty’s software products and grow a meaningful presence in the independent community pharmacy marketplace. The BDM will employ and execute a variety of sales techniques and campaigns to identify and connect with potential clients.
The BDM – Northeast region is expected to reside near a major airport within the territory (New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania) and travel up to 50% of the time.
Essential Responsibilities (other duties as assigned):
- Work with the Director of Business Development in evaluating and qualifying new business opportunities
- Develop and execute strategic territory plans, including managing the entire new business sales pipeline
- Conduct face-to-face pharmacy visits / sales calls to targeted groups of pharmacies with the objective(s) of new account acquisition, existing account expansion, and existing account retention
- Conduct product demonstrations and keep up to date on product knowledge
- Create and present proposals that meet the needs of individual prospective pharmacies
- Complete sales, reporting, and contracting for new business and other administrative procedures in a timely and accurate manner
- Develop productive business relationships with prospective and current pharmacies to drive market share
- Work with the internal Implementation team throughout onboarding to facilitate successful implementations
- Develop sales strategies to leverage market opportunities and utilize research to determine feasibility
- Explore new sales opportunities by analyzing competitive information and establishing courses of action to obtain new business
- Maintain an active knowledge of healthcare market, evaluating industry and business trends for potential impact on the organization
- Participate in local, state, and national industry trade shows as required
Desired Skills and Experience
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree required, and at least five years of relevant sales experience
- Demonstrated sales ability, including prospecting and closing skills
- Basic understanding of pharmacy day-to-day operations
- Excellent self-discipline, including time management and self-motivation skills
- Comfortable working with all position levels within an organization
- Extremely professional demeanor, including excellent interpersonal and written communication and presentation skills
- Willingness to work extended hours as needed to meet sales objectives
- Must possess valid driver’s license and be able to travel up to 50% of the time (including overnight travel) within the assigned territory
