Job Description:

The Assistant Production Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes. They are responsible for maintaining a safe and productive work environment, meeting production metrics, and effectively leading the shift production team. This role requires a combination of leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Safety Management: Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing safety policies and procedures. Ensure all employees adhere to safety guidelines.

2. Team Leadership: Lead the shift production team to meet or exceed production targets. Ensure team members are properly trained, equipped, and held accountable for their responsibilities.

3. Equipment Maintenance: Notify Maintenance Technicians of any equipment issues promptly. Independently address production-related problems as they arise.

4. Problem Solving: Demonstrate the ability to solve production-related issues promptly and professionally. Collaborate with the team to identify and implement solutions.

5. Communication: Communicate effectively with all employees, both verbally and in writing. Record and track downtime root causes for analysis.

6. Personnel Management: Resolve personnel issues within the shift production team, escalating to Plant Manager and HR when necessary. Manage the disciplinary process for production employees.

7. Continuous Improvement: Seek opportunities to improve equipment productivity and efficiency. Collaborate with the maintenance team to implement enhancements.

8. Materials Management: Assist in organizing and managing raw materials and supplies required for production shifts.

9. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of hourly production and other relevant data.

10. Physical Requirements: Perform various physical tasks such as sitting, standing, walking, and using equipment like forklifts and skid steers as needed.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in production within a manufacturing environment.

2. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred but not required

3. 2 years of experience operating material handling equipment. (forklifts, skid steers, JLG, Yard Dog, ect).

4. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow-through.

5. Understanding of OSHA regulations and commitment to implementing safety standards.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
