Job Summary:
Liberty Tire Recycling is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic. As a maintenance mechanic, you would be responsible for preventative maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs to the company recycling production equipment and/or other equipment as deem necessary. Duties may range from minor safety or lighting repairs to rebuilding a trailer. Your expertise will ensure the efficiency and safety of our operations, contributing to our commitment to high standards and effective recycling processes on our 3rd shift at our Port Saint Lucie, FL. facility.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on recycling equipment, conveyors, shredders, and other machinery.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues and implement solutions.
- Must be able to follow and adhere to all applicable OSHA and environmental compliance requirements.
- Troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment.
- Must be able to utilize machine tool manuals, technical documents, internal and vendor resources to research machine issues.
- Complete and submit proper documentation related to the status and time spent on machine issues and repairs.
- Assist in the installation of new machinery.
- Collaborate with the operations team to minimize downtime and optimize production efficiency.
Skills and Abilities:
- A minimum of 3 years experience performing mechanical maintenance in a manufacturing /industrial environment is required.
- Must be familiar with LOTO.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components, including welding equipment and electrical work.
- Understanding of OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations and implementation of safety regulations.
- Ability to stand and move around for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs., and work in various positions (standing, kneeling, bending) for extended periods.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime as needed.
- Comfortable working in an industrial environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
Education and Experience:
- Prior experience in the tire recycling or manufacturing industry is a plus.
Compensation:
- $22.00 - $27.00 per hour, depending on experience. Paid bi-weekly.
