Faculty are essential to Liberty University's mission of Training Champions for Christ. The Associate Dean is a full-time, 12-month contracted position within the School of Aeronautics. This position is an academic administrator and a member of the faculty, whose primary role is to support the Dean of the School of Aeronautics in providing exceptional leadership for curricular initiatives, strategic planning, program evaluation and development, and the management of administrative and financial affairs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Academic Leadership : Assist the Dean in providing strategic direction and leadership for the School of Aeronautics.
- Faculty Development : Support faculty recruitment, retention, and professional development. Promote a culture of excellence in teaching and service.
- Student Success : Enhance student recruitment, retention, and graduation rates. Develop and implement initiatives to support student academic and career success.
- Partnership Development and Innovation : Facilitate collaboration with industry partners and other academic institutions.
- Administrative Management : Oversee budget planning and resource allocation. Ensure compliance with university policies and procedures.
- Community Engagement : Represent the School of Aeronautics in university-wide committees and external organizations. Foster relationships with alumni, donors, and industry stakeholders.
- Strictly adheres to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.
- Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU's Christian model and Mission - Training Champions for Christ.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise 3-5 personnel, including department chairs and the Associate Director of Student Success.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Education
Experience
At least 5 years of organizational or academic leadership experience, preferably in higher education, with demonstrated success in student success initiatives, partnership development, and organizational health.

Proof of a valid driver's license, an acceptable DMV record, LU Driving Approval, and liability insurance is required when driving in the performance of the employee's position.
