Job Description Summary
As a full-time Academic Advisor I with Liberty University’s Online Academy Enrollment Team, you’ll have the opportunity to work from home or from our office. You’ll get to encourage students and parents through meaningful conversations, walking alongside them as they prepare for a rewarding academic career.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, college experience (degree in progress), and customer service/sales experience are required. A bachelor's degree, previous experience in an advising or contact center setting, and understanding of proper interpersonal communication and phone etiquette preferred. Ability to work autonomously and develop initiatives that successfully lay a foundation for achieving goals. Effective communication both verbally and in writing. Ability to intuitively reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature. Strong organizational and computer skills. Regularly required to lift 10 or fewer pounds. Availability to work between the hours of 9am-6pm. A minimum of 40 hours per week are required, with overtime during peak seasons of July and August.

- Providing exceptional customer service to our students and other university employees primarily over the phone but also in email communication.
- Expertly navigating all student/parent issues to complete and accurate resolution, utilizing knowledge of online programs and policies and connecting families with the correct person or department when needed.
- Building rapport with students/parents to provide them with a personal connection to the university and to enhance the potential for long-term enrollment retention.
- Utilizing multiple systems and resources while working with students.
