What are the responsibilities and job description for the Military Affairs Processor I position at Liberty University?
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
1. Processes all forms related to military Tuition Assistance and veteran benefits.
2. Verifies military documentation to identify the military student population as well as award Liberty University given military benefits.
3. Reviews the military student attribute lists as well as any list of students that needs to be audited for the most up to date information.
4. Processes veteran educational benefits for servicemembers, veterans, and their families.
5. Processes military Tuition Assistance benefits from all branches of the military along with spouses and DoD.
6. Reviews documentation and processes military withdrawals as well as reviews all GoArmyEd withdrawals.
7. Coordinates with outside offices to verify students’ enrollment as required by their degrees.
8. Manages government portals for military Tuition Assistance and veteran benefits by reporting degree programs offered, course and date uploads, reporting grades, reporting graduation, as well as processing rejections for military students using Tuition Assistance.
9. Assists with research and gathering of documents when DoD, VA, and VA State Approving Agency (SAA) audits occur.
10. Helps maintain the policies and procedures of military Tuition Assistance, veteran benefits, and military verification.
11. May be assigned to work chat or phone queues as needed.
12. To perform other duties incidental to the work described herein and as assigned by the Director, Associate Director, and Supervisor positions within Military Affairs.
13. Ability to articulate and defend the unique Christian educational mission and vision of Liberty University and its subsidiaries to a wide variety of individuals and groups.
Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies
A bachelor's degree and fluency in Spanish or ASL is preferred. Must have previous office and customer service experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with Sharepoint, CRM, and Banner strongly preferred. Must have ability to work second shift hours. Knowledge of Tuition Assistance and Veteran Benefit processing. Must not be in default on any federal student or parent loans. Individual must not be convicted of, or have pled nolo contendere or guilty to, a crime involving the acquisition, use, or expenditure of federal, state, or local government funds, -or- be administratively or judicially determined to have committed fraud or any other material violation of law involving federal, state, or local government funds (CFR 668.14(b)(18)(i)).
