Essential Functions and Responsibilities
1. Opening and closing of the observatory in accordance with department guidelines.
2. Greeting guests and instructing them on the safety and use of equipment.
3. Maintaining and securing telescopes and equipment.
4. Coordinating with faculty, facilities personnel, and student groups.
5. Department needs may provide additional hours for scoring astronomy assignments and other duties as needed.
6. Strictly adheres to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.
7. Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.
Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies
1. Some knowledge/experience with telescopes and astronomy.
2. Dependability and reliability.
3. Ability to work independently with little supervision.
4. Work evenings, often until 11PM or 12AM.
