Working independently and exercising good judgment and discretion, the Production Manager will supervise the production team for all productions. Responsible for hiring, budgeting, scheduling, and handling insurance and policy issues on the set and in the shops. Ensure productions comply with safety regulations and University policies. Create weekly status reports regarding all areas of production. Making sure all equipment is in working order and ordering replacement items. Making sure all shows are adequately staffed on the production end. Rotating the schedules of the tech staff. Step into any area of production when necessary or needed. Mentor all Stage Managers. Realizing the artistic visions of the creative team within the constraints of technical possibility. Keeping the theater ready for events-including events outside of the productions. Rotating with designated staff members, attending all performances of theatre productions and events using the facility.

Qualifications And Credentials
Education and Experience
BA or BFA, MFA preferred in Theatre/Technical Production/Communications and/or 8 years experience as a Production Manager in a professional or collegiate theatre. Must have working knowledge of all areas of production: lighting, sound, rigging, set construction, scenic, props, costuming, makeup, stage management for theater-including equipment used in all areas. Able to supervise a team of tech directors, assistant tech, shop workers, costumers, media/projections and visualize what the directors need for productions. Strong people skills, communication skills, and problem solving abilities. Must be hightly organized and able to handle multiple projects at once.
