What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Administrative Assistant for Research for School of Engineering position at Liberty University?
Working independently and exercising good judgment and discretion, this position is responsible for administrative support to the Dean, specifically relating to research and graduate program activities. Front-facing position ensuring professional and efficient day-to-day support of school leadership.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform administrative support to Dean, including schedule management, research activities, and graduate school / student administration.
- Work collaboratively with Senior Administrative Assistant overseeing academic administration to coordinate seamless support of the academic and research aspects of the Office of the Dean.
- Arranging meeting, travel and special events for the dean as required. Assist in travel coordination for guests of the dean.
- Reconciliation of expenses associated with leadership and guest travel, as well as miscellaneous expenses as incurred.
- Maintenance of graduate student files and support of graduate program administration and processes.
- Administrative support for dean's academic teaching load.
- Monitor grant opportunities and track submission dates. Review research articles / proposals for grant submission compliance.
- Special projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Minimum Education and Experience
High school degree and five years of administrative experience are required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook). Candidate must possess exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multi-task. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
Preferred Education and Experience
Some college preferred. Five years of clerical experience, preferably in a college or executive setting. Travel arrangement and expense reconciliation experience a plus.
