Liberty Pet Care is a proud, community-centered veterinary service provider with two Hinesville locations—Liberty Veterinary Medical Center and Liberty Animal Clinic. We’re looking for a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Assistant/Technician to join our tight-knit, supportive team. About the Role
As a Veterinary Assistant/Technician, you’ll work closely with our veterinarians and veterinary technicians to ensure every pet and client receives dedicated and detailed care. Your responsibilities will include assisting with examinations, treatments, and surgeries, and helping maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for pets and staff alike. You’ll also have the chance to work directly with clients, guiding them on pet care and health tips, and supporting them in understanding and caring for their pets’ needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist with exams and procedures: Hold and calm pets during examinations, treatments, and procedures, and assist veterinarians in preparing the necessary equipment.
- Client Education: Provide clients with clear, friendly guidance on pet care, nutrition, and preventive health practices.
- Surgical Prep: Prepare animals for surgery, ensuring proper aseptic techniques and supporting veterinarians as needed.
- Diagnostic Support: Conduct basic laboratory tests, handle specimens, and assist with X-ray procedures, with a focus on accuracy and safety.
- Health and Safety Monitoring: Observe animals in our care for any changes in behavior or health and promptly report any concerns to veterinary staff.
- Administrative Support: Assist with client scheduling and help maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records, enhancing client experience and operational efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills
- Knowledgeable: Strong understanding of animal physiology and anatomy, with familiarity in veterinary critical care as a bonus.
- Lab Savvy: Proficiency with laboratory equipment and basic diagnostic tests.
- Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail, from accurate record-keeping to protocol adherence.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively connect with clients and work harmoniously with team members.
- Compassionate Approach: A warm, caring demeanor that ensures every pet and client feels at ease.
- Pulse PMS Knowledge: Higher compensation is available for applicants familiar with Pulse, our Practice Management System.
