JOB TITLE : Mechanical Assembler
DEPARTMENT : Assembly
REPORTING TO : Supervisor of Hand Assembly
PRIMARY FUNCTION OF POSITION :
To perform light to complex mechanical assembly and electronic assembly tasks as assigned. This includes the repair, assembly or disassembly of various devices. Some Hand Soldering will be required.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES :
- Screwdrivers, wrenches, power drills, rivet guns etc.
- Perform quality work checks to insure the product meets quality standards.
- Rework and / or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes.
- Inspect and test completed units.
- Interpret process instructions, blueprints / drawings and schematics.
- Adjust and grind down parts if necessary.
- Position and fasten units to assemblies and subassemblies.
- Fasten cables and wiring.
- Solder electrical components.
- The ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance.
- Test finished product.
