Job Summary
Performs routine (journey-level) electronic document imaging and micrographics work. Work involves the setup, operation, and maintenance of digital imaging equipment and software, scanners, and micrographics equipment. Works under close supervision, with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Essential Tasks
Performs data entry
Prepares documents for microfilming and scanning.
Maintains and reports daily production
Performs routine maintenance on machines
Ensures quality of final product by editing microforms and digital images.
Operate rotary, flatbed and microfilm cameras, digital scanners
Performs related work as assigned
Attends work regularly and in accordance with agency leave and attendance policies.
Complies with all applicable agency policies and procedures.
Other Tasks
Inspects stored film for signs of deterioration
Veterans, Reservist or Guardsmen with an MOS or additional duties that fall in the fields no applicable MOS for related fields pertaining to the minimum experience requirements for this position and are highly encouraged to apply. Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from High School or equivalent
Experience using a desktop computer.
Experience performing data entry
Experience using standard office equipment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience entering information into spreadsheets or databases
Experience operating a rotary microfilm camera
Experience using digital scanners to convert paper or microfilm to digital images
Experience indexing or naming digitized documents
Experience using Digitech scanning software
Experience editing microforms or digital document output
Experience working in a micrographics or digital scanning service bureau
Experience using Microsoft Office products Word and Excel, Adobe Suite.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of office procedures and of spelling, grammar, punctuation, and arithmetic
Knowledge of accepted business practices and procedures involved in providing services and of applicable rules, regulations, and policies
Knowledge of composition and spelling
Skill in the use of standard office equipment and software
Ability to read and arrange documents by alphanumeric order.
Ability to move 30 pounds of work-related materials
Ability to use a personal computer
Ability to write and speaking effectively
Ability to communicate and interact effectively with other staff
Environmental/Physical Conditions
Normal office work environment. May have exposure to dust and environmental allergens consistent with normal business activities and human contact. Mostly sedentary in nature but may involve moving; standing; remaining stationary for long periods of time; pulling and pushing; kneeling, stooping and bending; and safely moving items weighing up to 30 pounds. Work involves extensive computer usage and repetitive motions while operating the computer and scanners. Normal cognitive abilities including the ability to learn, recall, and apply certain practices and policies. May require overtime work at hours other than 8-5 Monday -Friday.
