What are the responsibilities and job description for the Acquisitions Librarian position at Library Systems & Services, LLC?
LAC Federal is seeking a part-time Librarian to support an agency in the Washington DC area with acquisitions management. The candidate will also provide technical and professional services to support general library functions with a focus on chemistry information resources. This position will average 10 hours per week and can be performed remotely.
- Conduct a review of electronic materials
- Evaluate and maintain subscriptions and publications
- Full range of technical and professional services to support library functions including:
- Literature Access
- Subscription Management
- Resource Management
- Research Services
- Cataloging, classification, serials control, collection acquisition and maintenance
- Circulation of materials, interlibrary loans, document delivery
- Conduct information searches upon request
- Master's of Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution
- 2 years of library experience performing acquisitions support and/or management
- Familiarity with chemistry information resources, including but not limited to SciFinder, Scopus, etc
- Government clearance preferred to work immediately
