Branch Manager III

As a Branch Manager III, you will lead dedicated teams across three locations, ensuring exceptional library services that meet the unique needs of each community. They will encourage staff contributions and personal professional development while fostering a diverse, equitable, inclusive, and accessible work environment. Branch Manager III will lead a team of library professionals who are committed to creating a thriving library in the heart of their community as they support and build a strong partnership with library patrons and their local official(s), ensuring the library is a welcoming space for all, and contribute to the overall success of the Library.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage materials budget and oversee branch collection
• Oversee and help develop library community programming and outreach initiatives
• Positively influence others to achieve results that are in the best interest of the organization
• Assess situations to determine the importance, urgency, and risks, and make clear decisions that are timely and in the best interests of the organization
• Set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress toward goals, and track details, data, information, and activities
• Determine strategies to move the organization forward, set goals, create and implement action plans, and evaluate the process and results
• Assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and / or resolve the problem
• Assesses options and actions based on trends and conditions in the environment and the vision and values of the organization
• Know, understand, and administer the American Library Association’s Library Bill of Rights, Freedom to Read Statement, and Freedom to View Statement, recognizing that freedom of access is a fundamental tenet of a public library; in addition to these freedoms, support client discretion of materials available at your local library(ies)
• Follow all legal and policy requirements for patron privacy and custodianship of patron records.
