PT JOB OPENING–2024

CIVIL SERVICE TITLE : LIBRARY ASSISTANT, Youth Services

EXAMPLES OF WORK :

  • Welcome public at busy Children’s Service Desk : offer reference help and program registration
  • Shelve books and media
  • Monitor Teen and Children’s Programs
  • Plan and facilitate YS Programs as needed

HOURS : 16 hrs / wk : Monday 1-6, Tuesday 9-5, Thursday 1-5, Every 3rd Saturday 10 am-5 pm, 1 Sunday per month 1-5 pm

STARTING SALARY : $17 - $19, commensurate with experience

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Customer service orientation : outgoing, positive, able to relate well to children, teens, and caregivers
  • Computer literate with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office; Internet skills; ability to create flyers and promotional materials; online social networking tools a plus
  • Strong organizational, communication, and writing skills
  • Experience in working with children / teens
  • Flexibility to work in and with other departments
  • College degree and BCCLS experience a plus
