Concrete Foreman

Supervises concrete laborers, concrete finishers/carpenters, and heavy equipment operators while overseeing all activities relating to the erection of concrete structures. The concrete foreman will evaluate the performance of the crews, ensuring that project costs remain within budget as well as manage project materials and resources and oversee the use of equipment and tools.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (will include but not be limited to):

·      Must be able to correctly interpret blueprints, plans, and drawings.

·      Must be able to demonstrate excellent management and problem-solving skills as well as enforce compliance with safety regulations.

·      Oversees all activities about concrete preparation, placement, installation, finishing, and curing.

·      Divides concrete construction projects into different stages and evaluates how much labor and materials are required for each stage.

·      Resolves all problems that may affect project quality and completion.

·      Delegates tasks to concrete laborers and providing overall guidance.

·      Completes daily job reports using the Pave Day app for Libs Paving Co., Inc.

·      Ensures that formwork and shoring are erected, supported, and dismantled based on engineering designs and drawings.

· Inspecting concrete after the formwork and shoring have been removed and instructing concrete laborers on how to correct defects and concrete roughness.

·      Directs the casting of the concrete with the truck driver.

·      Monitors the effects of the weather on the curing process.

·      Monitors the sealing and hardening components.

· Supervise the operator of the power vibrator to ensure the concrete is compacted safely.

· Follow all directions from Libs Paving Management team as well as the Superintendent of the concrete teams.

·      When driving company vehicles, follows proper daily checklist and inspection procedures while completing documentation of same as required.

·      Takes necessary precautions to ensure the job is being done in the safest manner possible. Is mindful of their safety as well as safety of their team members and customers.

·      Effectively communicates with other crew members with the ability to listen to other crew members’ ideas, suggestions, and concerns.

·      Ensures site safety by installing barricades as necessary.

·      Adheres to all safety rules established in the Libs Paving Safety Program.

·      Responsible for keeping truck interiors clean of debris while traveling to and from job sites.

·      Maintains a high level of discipline and professionalism as a representative of Libs Paving Co.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

·      Valid driver’s license with a CDL Class A preferred. 

·      Must pass drug test and keep COATS card valid.

·      Must be dependable with good to excellent attendance and punctuality.

·      Minimum 3 years concrete construction work experience with proven experience as a concrete foreman.

·      Must be able to regularly lift up to 75lbs.

·      Must be able to withstand various climate conditions, including extreme heat and humidity.

·      Must be able to stand for extended periods.

·      Must be able to kneel for extended periods.

·       High School Diploma preferred.
