Local manufacturing company in Mooresville, NC is seeking a purchasing agent for first shift position. Full time, Monday-Friday (may require some overtime).
Job Requirements
· Proficient with MS Office Suite (Experience with MS Great Plains a plus)
· Good communication skills, both written and verbal
· Ability to multi-task
· Good organizational skills
· ISO/AS9100 knowledge a plus
· Inventory control
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare and create purchase orders
· Request quotes for parts and raw materials from qualified vendors that are ISO/AS9100 approved, and requesting either Material certifications or Certificate of Conformances for parts ordered.
· Vendor follow up regarding delivery of items and documentation required for ISO/AS9100
· Maintaining filing system in purchasing department and updating appropriate records as needed
· Inventory Control- ordering and pulling parts for work orders
· Enter data for quantities of parts issued to work orders, inventory adjustments as needed, into computer database.
· Receive and issue finished goods into computer database.
· Troubleshoot quantity discrepancies with manufacturing and inspection personnel.
· Prepare and participate in yearly physical inventory.
Work Environment
This job operates in an office environment and Industrial Repair shop floor, working closely with the Production Manager, Shop Supervisor and Engineering. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Hours are 7am- 3:30pm, Mon-Fri.
Physical Demands
This is largely an active role, both in the office and the shop; some filing and pulling of inventory of parts is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, inventory cabinets and shelving, bend or stand as necessary, and lift up to 25 pounds. This job requires attention to details, and ability to multitask.
