Responsibilities
Provide direct 1:1 ABA therapy to children with Autism in the clinic, home, and/or community settings:
- Adhere to applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles and ethics.
- A BCBA/BCaBA Therapist seeks to reduce maladaptive behaviors under the supervision and direction of a BCBA as applicable.
- Demonstrate sound professional judgment at all times.
- Collaborate with all staff as necessary to ensure treatment integrity.
- Prompts safe and socially acceptable replacement behaviors in order to build a repertoire of communication, social interaction, and problem-solving skills.
- Performs adaptive modification protocol for direct and indirect assessments to identify the function of behavior(s).
- Support the development and implementation of treatment plans based on caregiver priorities, socially significant behavior, and treatment methodologies that are evidence-based.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of each assigned treatment plan and remain prepared to modify techniques as necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Must display enthusiasm and creativity; meet challenges with resourcefulness - generate suggestions for improving work and develop innovative approaches and ideas.
- Follow behavioral health plans developed to provide beneficial and effective care to patients.
- Answer questions from children and their families
- Assist children with day-to-day tasks (ADLs)
- Observe and document child behaviors for the ongoing collection of data.
- Teach specific skills required for skill acquisition and maladaptive behavior reduction.
- Nurture and strengthen every child’s communicative, adaptive, and social abilities.
Qualifications
- Must be able to pass a criminal history background check.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- May need to work shifts, such as late afternoons.
- Computer skills.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Must have experience providing direct 1:1 ABA therapy to children with Autism in the clinic, home, and community settings.
- Must be able to work well as part of a team.
- For BCaBAs, certification and licensure must be active.
- For BCaBAs, conduct assessments, e.g., VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, AFLS
- For BCaBAs, provide parent training on the principles of ABA and behavior analysis.
- For BCaBAs, provide training and supervision to Behavior Therapists.
- For BCaBAs, willingness and interest to work with adults through Therapeutic Consultation Services.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour
