Position Summary
Lick-Wilmerding currently seeks a full-time teacher to join the math department beginning August 2025. The math department is a collaborative, supportive, student-centered team that believes all students can be successful mathematics learners. We work intentionally to strengthen and align our curriculum with the needs of our students and value the diverse perspectives our colleagues bring to this work.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate the capacity to teach four sections of Math, including advanced levels, most likely with two preps. This teacher also should expect to be available to students for individual help outside of class, to serve as an advisor to a group of approximately 12 students and their families.
As an institution committed to educating the whole child, we both invite and expect teaching faculty to participate fully in the academic and co-curricular life of the school. This includes, but is not limited to, furthering the mission of the school through participating in our Advisory, Public Purpose, and DEI Programs; as well as attendance in all curricular team meetings, department meetings, faculty meetings, and office hours to support students when needed.

- A minimum of three years teaching experience with ability and desire to teach at all levels of the high school curriculum
- A commitment to equity and culturally responsive instruction in the math classroom, which invites all students to learn and to demonstrate what they have learned
- Experience with student-centered math pedagogy that values understanding and reasoning over rules and algorithms
- Powerful understanding of mathematics through calculus and statistics
- Interest and ability to collaborate with colleagues in order to contribute to a culture of continual improvement and learning
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
