Position Description

Duties:

Provide Oversight To All Special Programs Offered By The Licking County Veterans’ Service Commission. This Includes But Is Not Limited To The Following

Homeless Veteran Program

School Supply Program

Indigent Burial

Denture Program

Holiday Assistance Programs

Transportation

Medical Lift Chair Reimbursement Program

The Special Programs Coordinator is to assist the Director and Administrative Assistant with day-to-day operations of the Licking County Veterans’ Service Commission. In addition, will also assist with outreach and advertising.

The Special Programs Coordinator must maintain at all times a pleasant, polite and professional demeanor.

The Special Programs Coordinator will actively interact with the public and local organizations to promote the programs and services offered by this office.

Brief Description

Provide oversight to all special programs offered by the Licking County Veterans’ Service Commission.

Job Prerequisites

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be a veteran of the Armed Forces of the United States who received an honorable discharge or if a qualified veteran is not available the spouse, surviving spouse, child, or parent of a veteran, per Ohio Revised Code 5901 (Verification of eligibility must be included with the application).
• Current Ohio driver’s license (driving is considered an essential function of this position).
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective computer skills.
• Experience, knowledge and/or training in administration and bookkeeping; must have excellent organizational skills.
• Typing and keyboarding skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
• Experience in outreach and coordinating of public services.
  
  

Compensation:

Pay Rate: $30.21 per hour - Starting
