Summer Camps are Monday through Friday – 7:30 am to 6:00 pm - hours may vary
Pay: $16.00 per hour
40 hours on camp weeks
20 hours on prep weeks (between camps)
The Grove Academy launched its first day camp in the summer of 2016. Thanks to many partnerships formed in the community, we are able to offer four full weeks of camp every summer and two additional single-day camps during spring and winter school breaks. Each of our camps is themed and offers unique and exciting experiences.
Summer Camp Schedule:
- Wild Camping Adventures June 9 - 13, 2025
- Wild World Adventures June 23 - 27, 2025
- Wild River Adventures July 21 - 25, 2025
- Wild Sporting Adventures July 21 - 25, 2025
Responsibilities:
- Assist with developing quality programs/curricula in all day camp areas.
- Responsible for various administrative tasks necessary for day camps to run efficiently, such as ordering supplies, coordinating schedules, and completing and maintaining accurate program and administrative records and essential reports.
- Responsible for knowing, understanding, training, and executing all camp policies and emergency procedures associated with the day camp.
- Organize and lead various small and large group activities each week. Activities may include: crafts, nature, songs, games, opening and closing ceremonies, swimming, archery, and kayaking.
- Communicate with parents about participants’ experiences and report concerns.
- 21 years of age or older
- Experience in camp, youth programs, recreation, working with children, or in a related field preferred.
- Complete First Aid and CPR certification (Part of new hire training)
- Be able to restrain and physically support children when needed for safety in general day camp activities (child weighing 50 – 200 pounds).
- Must have the ability to lead and participate in camp activities, which include, but are not limited to: hiking, kayaking, swimming, team building, building campfires, physical games, and activities.
