Position Summary
Under assessment and supervision of the Registered Nurse and according to established policies and procedures, the Point of Care Technician performs patient care activities in order to assist health care providers in performing various technical and clerical procedures in the patient care area. Position requires interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, visitors, and hospital personnel. May be required to float throughout LMHS and perform other duties as requested.

Responsibilities
- Able to recognize an arrest and respond in a critical situation.
- Accurately obtain and record patient specific data.
- Lifts, transfers, transport patients safely.
- Maintain patient safety. Identifying patients at risk for falls and following fall risk protocol.
- Work independently
- Collects, performs and documents tests on patients pertinent to the respective department
- Minimum requirement, high school diploma or GED
- Maintain CPR certification (HCP)
- Read, write, and follow verbal or written instructions
- Proficient with electronic medical records and PC’s
- Work independently
