Who You Are
Are you an aspiring automotive mechanic looking to grow your skills in a dynamic and supportive environment? LID Landscapes is seeking a skilled and motivated Assistant Mechanic to support our Fleet Maintenance Program. In this role, you’ll contribute to the performance and reliability of our diverse fleet of landscape equipment, vehicles, and trailers—ensuring seamless operation for both landscape and snow services.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of equipment and vehicles, including trucks, SUVs, trailers, diesel engines, small engines, automatic transmissions, air brake systems, suspension, hydraulics, electrical systems, air conditioning, and computer systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, tune-ups, and inspections to extend equipment lifespan and minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate service records and inventory of parts used.
- Collaborate with the fleet team, mechanics, and operations crew to resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and well-organized work environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems (hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical).
- Proficiency with hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred but no required.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive hourly wage: $22–$25 per hour, plus annual performance-based bonuses

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
