Job Title: Graphic Designer
Job Summary
The Graphic Designer is responsible for creating marketing visuals across all print and digital mediums, including in-store merchandising displays, email and social content. Working closely with the creative team, the graphic designer is expected to use current design trends and best practices to create content that adheres to the Lids brand guidelines and culture. This position will work closely with the senior creative manager and leadership to develop the brand strategy throughout the year. This individual should be hands-on and consistently look to develop engaging content that employs various methods such as photography and video.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and create marketing assets, including store banners, social media graphics, emails, website, and other design work as needed
- Produce high quality work in a fast-paced environment meeting deadlines and expectations for creativity and brand consistency
- Explore design alternatives, pushing boundaries and executing sophisticated solutions that display awareness of current design trends and techniques
- Collaborate with Sr. Creative Manager and team to develop, refine, communicate and execute the creative vision for brand strategy
- Use hands-on approach to develop projects from start to finish
- Streamline and improve marketing processes
- Influence the organization to continuously innovate
- Monitor consumer trends and look for opportunities to elevate design
- Collaborate with photography studio team to concept, develop and execute content for campaigns and promotions
- Conceptualize visually dynamic and concise design ideas for multiple print and digital materials
- Develop designs that adhere to brand guidelines and translate into integrated solutions for print and digital marketing initiatives
- Employ graphic design best practices and optimization techniques
- Proof work for typos and other issues to ensure delivery of error-free designs
- Participate in group projects and new strategic initiatives
- Plan and manage project time effectively
- Provide creative input and direction during project development
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communications, or related degree
- 3 years of professional design and marketing/advertising experience
- Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator
- Proven organizational skills, creativity, and professionalism
- Solid understanding of design principles, typography, color theory and other relevant design fundamentals used in the print and digital space
- Expert knowledge of print and digital standards
- Proven understanding of photography fundamentals and principles
- Strong desire to push creativity and experiment with new design techniques and processes
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Superior interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Works well under pressure, responds to feedback well, and maintains a positive attitude
- Strong work ethic and ability to effectively manage time and projects
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Strong ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines
- Must be very organized and be able to prioritize and reprioritize assignments as needed
- An aptitude for storytelling and grounding complex concepts preferred
- Creative copywriting experience a bonus
