Essential Job Functions
- Gather and analyze key metrics for all equipment, including OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), uptime, efficiency, scrap, and other relevant performance indicators.
- Provide ongoing training to line operators to enhance their understanding and performance.
- Support cross-functional departments, including Production, Materials, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance, with key performance metrics, troubleshooting, and process support.
- Identify and evaluate process improvement opportunities to:
- Optimize line throughput.
- Minimize downtime.
- Enhance product consistency, appearance, performance, and adherence to specifications.
- Pinpoint process bottlenecks, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions or improvements.
- Develop and implement comprehensive training programs and sessions for machine operators.
- Research and evaluate equipment alternatives or modifications to enhance the efficiency of existing machinery.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience required.
- 1–3 years of experience as a process engineer in a plastics manufacturing environment preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement processes.
- Strong understanding of statistical analysis and its application in manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles and related software is preferred.
- Experience with project management is beneficial.
- Basic understanding of quality control systems.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in job training or employee development is a plus.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot equipment and processes.
- Strong analytical skills for problem-solving and process evaluation.
