This role is perfect for newly admitted attorneys with prior litigation experience or those with 2 to 5 years of practice in litigation. Key Responsibilities
Handle litigation from inception through resolution, including:
- Drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and preparing motions.
- Participating in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and administrative proceedings.
- Preparing for trials and drafting appeals in both state and federal courts.
Represent clients in diverse practice areas, including:
- Civil Rights/Discrimination: Advocating for victims of unlawful discrimination.
- Employment Litigation: Handling matters involving wrongful termination, wage disputes, and whistleblower claims.
- Real Estate Litigation: Representing clients in disputes over contracts, property ownership, brokerage issues, and more.
- Commercial Litigation: Resolving business disputes such as breaches of contract, fiduciary duties, and unfair competition.
Collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment to deliver exceptional client outcomes.
Qualifications
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
- Bar Admission: Licensed and admitted to practice in New York State.
Experience:
- For newly admitted attorneys: Prior experience in litigation, ideally within a law firm handling similar cases.
- For experienced candidates: 2 to 5 years of litigation experience in the fields of employment law, discrimination, real estate, or commercial litigation.
Skills:
- Exceptional legal writing and research skills (experience with Westlaw preferred).
- Strong organizational, critical thinking, and communication abilities.
- A proactive approach to handling complex cases and client relationships.
