Communication Specialist
We are looking for a highly skilled Communication Specialist to join our team at Life Care Center of Winter Haven. As a Communication Specialist, you will provide direct rehabilitation care in speech therapy to patients upon physician referral.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with patients, families, and support departments to plan patient needs.
- Develop and implement effective communication strategies to improve patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Essential Functions
- Assess patient communication skills and develop personalized plans.
- Implement evidence-based interventions to improve patient communication.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited program in speech therapy (MS or MA SLP).
- ASHA certified (CCCs) or eligible for Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
- Currently registered/licensed in the state.
- CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year experience in post-acute care or related setting.
Working Conditions
- Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours.
- Read, write, speak, and understand English language.
