ADMISSIONS NURSE
Position Title : Admissions Nurse (Healthcare)
Department : Healthcare
Supervisor : Director of Nursing
Job Status : Part-Time (non-exempt position)
Rate : 38.00 per hour-48.00 per hour (depending on licensure and experience)
Hours / Days : This position is 30 hours per week; 5 days a week. The Admissions Nurse will work 6 hours per day.
- The hours required are evening hours due to admissions that come in. The Admissions Nurse would need to be flexible with the evening hours (example : 12pm-6pm; 1pm-7pm; 2pm-8pm)
JOB SUMMARY :
The Admissions Nurse is responsible for assistance with admissions for the Healthcare Department, as well as on-going educational trainings / staff development for all staff at Foulk Living. The Admissions Nurse will additionally partake in the development and implementation of the healthcare component of New Hire Orientation. The Admissions Nurse will be responsible for completing additional RN tasks, as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities .
Assists with admissions for the Healthcare Department.Plans, conducts and implements the healthcare-based education (as required by state regulations and company policies) for New Hire Orientation and training programs for all newly hired employees which are scheduled on a regular basis.Plans the annual and monthly training program calendar, in conjunction with the facility's staff development program (SNF Clinic / Relias).Works with the Human Resources Director to train all new employees during their orientations, which are scheduled on a regular basis.Recruits instructors with expertise in the appropriate discipline to improve and develop the skills of employees. Utilizes community resources for training programs (CPR Certification, Fit Testing, etc.)Assists in the planning and coordination of education and training for all departments within the facility to respond to identified problem areas, service quality or to teach new procedures or methods.Maintains appropriate training records and program materials as required by federal and state regulations.Assist with providing specific floor-orientation to Health Center nursing staff, including completion of the clinical skills checklist.Monitors outcome of employee training sessions regarding skills taught and session evaluations.Administers and maintains all annual healthcare-related requirements for all staff (Annual TB Screening, Annual Flu Vaccination, and Covid-Related Forms). Additional management of other forms may be required as well.Maintains records of licensed nurses and certified nursing assistants upon hire (Human Resources Director maintains the licenses in personnel files as well) and ensures that these licenses remain current during employment in the facility. The Admissions Nurse will be required to communicate upcoming expiring licenses to the nurses and CNAs, and when re-certification occurs, they must provide the Human Resources Director with the updated certifications / licenses.Required to perform additional RN duties, as needed.Contributes to a positive, healthy, and safe working environment.Works as a member of the team.Gets along well with co-workers.Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling obligations.Performs any other relevant duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS :

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE : Current Registered Nursing license by the applicable state is required. Minimum training and development experience in long-term care required.LANGUAGE SKILLS : Ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : Basic mathematical skills required.REASONING ABILITY : Ability to understand, follow and support established policies and procedures of the facility; ability to recognize emergency situations and respond appropriately; ability to plan, organize and prioritize assignments efficiently; ability to work effectively with supervision and with minimum supervision as well; ability to adapt teaching to the situation and diversity of learners.OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES : Computer literacy encouraged.Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Leadership and teaching skills required. Understanding and empathy of the uniqueness of the needs of the elderly required.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS : Moderate standing, walking, talking, listening, grasping, reaching, balancing, stooping, keeling, crouching, smelling pushing, pulling. Must be able to assist in lifting and / or positioning residents weighing in excess of 100 pounds. Must be able to wear appropriate PPE, as needed. Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. and occasionally 50 lbs.
