Location: Johnson County, Kansas

Schedule:
We have a limited number of weekday shifts available:
- Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Most positions require weekend availability. Flexible scheduling is available for part-time and full-time roles.

About the Role
As a DSP, you will play a vital role in providing individualized care, support, and encouragement to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You’ll help create a safe, nurturing environment where each individual can thrive, achieve their goals, and fully engage in their community.
What You’ll Do
- Care and Support:
- Build trusting relationships with individuals by providing personalized care.
- Support daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and housekeeping.
- Administer medications in accordance with medical guidance and training.
- Promoting Independence:
- Encourage individuals to set and achieve personal goals based on their Person-Centered Support Plan (PCSP).
- Facilitate involvement in community activities, hobbies, and social events.
- Teach and reinforce life skills that promote self-reliance and personal growth.
- Health and Safety:
- Ensure individuals’ safety and well-being during all activities.
- Assist with physical mobility, including transfers to and from wheelchairs or other seating.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free environment.
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Record activities and incidents accurately using our electronic documentation system.
- Adhere to Life Centers’ policies, procedures, and state regulations.

What We’re Looking For
- A compassionate and patient individual with a desire to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A team player with a positive attitude and strong problem-solving skills.
Requirements:
- At least 21 years old with a high school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive company vehicles (including mini-vans, 12-15 passenger vans, and wheelchair lift vans).
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and assist individuals with physical mobility.
- Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and squatting for extended periods.
- Reliable transportation and punctual attendance.
- Proficiency with basic technology, including computers for documentation and email access.
- Must pass a criminal background check and random drug screenings.
