Life Chiropractic College West

Salary Range: $110,000 - $120,000
Full-Time, Exempt
40 hours per week
Fully onsite position
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Faculty supervision:
- To monitor and evaluate faculty compliance with contractual responsibilities
- Must gain an understanding of the CBA with the college
- To meet regularly with individual faculty members
- To assess for continuous improvement through course and faculty evaluation
- To assist with faculty development, including adopting and using current technologies and pedagogies.
- To serve as an intermediary in the resolution of student/faculty conflict
- To recruit, hire, orient, and mentor highly qualified faculty for the department(s)
- Creation of onboarding process and training of new departmental faculty
- To track and support departmental faculty research initiatives
Educational mission:
- Instruction of philosophy/technique or other assigned courses (department chairs have teaching assignments up to ten hours per week)
- To hold regular department meetings
- Develop and maintain department-level mission and outcomes aligned with the college mission and goals.
- To assist with special projects that relate to the objectives of the department
- Participates in assessment of departmental objectives
- Based on outcomes assessment, develop and implement action plans
- Share outcomes with faculty
- Use outcomes to improve curriculum on a course and department level
- Ensure that objectives and outcomes are being met
- Facilitate the intentional integration of co-curricular systems within the college.
- Assess the quality of philosophy and business courses and ensure continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain a business curriculum that meets the college’s goals for success in practice.
- Ensure that the business curriculum and philosophy curriculum are continuous in threads and align.
- Work with other academic departments to ensure the college’s philosophy is integrated throughout the curriculum.
- This includes teaching LCCW faculty the philosophic principles and helping them see how they are essential to their curricular content and chiropractic practice.
- Work with the Health Center Administration to ensure the philosophy and business curriculum align with Health Center practices and assessments.
- Work with other college leaders to develop and maintain a business institute that supports graduates for the first year out of school and into practice.
- The program aligns with and continues the business program provided as part of the LCCW curriculum.
- Collaborate with the Dean of Clinics in implementing and overseeing the business institute.
Administrative duties:
- To facilitate communication between faculty, students, and administrators
- Serve on the Academic Planning Group and Curriculum Committee
- Coordinate with Health Center administration to ensure that the content and expectations of the department and the clinical experience are congruent.
- To participate in an ongoing institutional self-study process
- Responsible for coordinating the maintenance of equipment and materials available in the classrooms.
- Academic Advising
- Participate in the strategic planning process of the institution
- Oversee the departmental planning and budgeting process
- Coordinate with IR, department faculty, and staff to assess departmental needs
- Plan and manage department budget based on planning and needs
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) required
- Three years or equivalence to higher education teaching experience (Specifically in Chiropractic Philosophy and/or Business)
- Associate Rank or equivalent experience
- Minimum of five years of practice experience
- Business or academic leadership and development experience
- Education, Training, and/or Experience
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Strong creative skills
- Ability to manage and delegate multiple and varied tasks with frequent high levels of urgency or sensitivity
- Ability to work collaboratively and foster a strong team environment
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Strong interpersonal skills, as well as a high level of sophistication in social and professional settings
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior administrative experience in higher education.
