What are the responsibilities and job description for the Graphic Designer position at Life.Church?
The Graphic Designer is primarily responsible for collaborating with the Learning Team, Ministry Education Team, and Team Development office to create visually engaging staff training and spouse resources that enhance the effectiveness and engagement of Learning Team content. This role will develop E-Learning visuals, design and manage the Life.Church Staff Portal intranet, and manage training for team owners responsible for their respective Spaces page. This role will focus on collaboration, innovation, and technical design expertise to align content to branding and instructional goals. This role will also provide learning resource, event, and communication support to the team. The Graphic Designer utilizes their skillset to deliver outcomes that align with the direction of their team to further Life.Church’s mission and to reach people for Christ.

The Learning Team exists to help staff members as they step into their staff roles and develop their God-given strengths, talents, and areas of growth. With the entire Life.Church staff team and the mission and culture of our church in mind, we create classes, training, discussions, blog posts, how-to documents, and training resources to empower our staff to develop and grow as our church grows.
\n- Graphic design development, creation, and project management.
- Design visual assets for staff training events and learning resources, including logos, webpage layouts, screen elements, learning materials, email designs, and other branded content.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and content developers to create compelling graphics that enhance learning engagement and effectiveness.
- Utilize design software proficiently, including Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Canva, and Photoshop.
- Create and distribute marketing materials for Learning Team events and resources through Staff Digital Signage, Potty Publicities, Staff Portal articles, MailChimp campaigns, and other internal channels.
- Partner with teams on design requests for staff training, ensuring the purpose, goals, and delivery method are clear. Provide design guidance, design feedback, and create effective learning materials.
- Manage design projects and initiatives for the Learning Team, overseeing timelines, priorities, and execution.
- Ensure design consistency across all Learning & Development materials by aligning with branding and design standards.
- E-Learning design and course development.
- Design and structure E-Learning courses to create a visually engaging and effective learning experience.
- Collaborate with SMEs and content developers to determine the best instructional design approach, incorporating graphics, branding, and interactive elements.
- Create and manage visual elements within E-Learning courses, ensuring consistency with branding and instructional goals.
- Create and maintain branding guidelines for Learning Management System (LMS) and E-Learning design themes.
- Oversee updates to course visuals and design elements to maintain a polished and modern learning experience.
- Develop a strong working knowledge of Auzmor and Knowbly (the LMS and authoring tools), partnering with the Learning Team Experience Director to understand platform functionality and how it impacts course design and authoring.
- Support for Learning Team projects and initiatives.
- Manage and maintain all visual design and marketing and aspects of the Staff Portal and Staff Digital Signage, ensuring clarity, accessibility, and brand consistency.
- Develop training resources and learning opportunities to help Central and Campus teams create and maintain their Staff Portal spaces effectively.
- Research and support Learning Team adoption of various technology elements and execution of team accounts.
- Support event logistics for Learning Team initiatives, including technology setup, resource design and printing, file organization, and enabling a seamless experience for participants and speakers.
- Assist with Learning Team event execution, including displaying and progressing slides, supporting Learning Experience Team, and gathering feedback to improve future design elements and event experiences.
- Ability to self-motivate, make independent decisions, and solve problems with innovation.
- Effective at multi-tasking and time management to meet strict deadlines while remaining flexible and open to change.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to clearly explain complicated processes and foster partnerships.
- Effective at process and organizational management to coordinate, structure, and provide vision to projects.
- Strong leadership skills and understanding of developing and guiding others.
- Highschool diploma or GED.
- Associate’s degree or higher in a related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of related work experience.
