Summary
The PRN Facilities General Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a wide
variety of tasks related to the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and
equipment. This role supports the Facilities Department on an as-needed basis to ensure a
safe, clean, and functional environment for staff, clients, and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance tasks including minor plumbing, electrical, painting,
- carpentry, and HVAC support.
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify and address maintenance needs or
- safety issues.
- Respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist with furniture assembly, room setups, and minor moves as required.
- Monitor and maintain facility equipment and systems to ensure optimal functioning.
- Support emergency repairs and after-hours issues when available.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
- Assist with seasonal tasks such as snow removal, landscaping, or storm prep a needed.
- Maintain tools, supplies, and equipment in good working order.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school training a plus
- 2 years of general maintenance experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of building systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues effectively
- Strong attention to detail, safety, and cleanliness
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically active role
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including occasional weekends or evenings as needed
Working Conditions
- PRN, non-exempt position
- Schedule varies based on facility needs
- Work may be performed both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
